Shanklin Pony

The Village Bus Company was sub-contracted to run the popular open top Sandown to Shanklin circular route. It is seen here in June 2000 at Shanklin Old Village.

In 2002 this route was back with Southern Vectis and a number change. XDL 872 is seen here again in Shanklin Old Village.


Ryde

While route 44 in 2002 moves to the scenic Downs service from Ryde via Robin Hill and Havenstreet.

Ryde again and this bus is firmly advertising the local newspaper, the County Press.

Southern Vectis have branded groups of routes. The 'Rouge' brand (Cowes via Newport to Sandown & Shanklin) is hard to miss!.
