WHITE HART INN
Havenstreet

One of the oldest inn signs in existence, used for many centuries all over Europe, the White Hart was the personal insignia of King Richard II. This sign also illustrates Richard's Coat of Arms. A well known painting called the Witon Dyptich shows Richard offering a ring to the Christ-child and even the guardian angels are shown to be wearing the familiar badge of the White Hart!
