CASTLE INN
Newport

It was believed that there was once an underground tunnel between this house and Carisbrooke Castle, which is how the inn got its name. A coaching house in the days of King Charles I and a centre for cock fighting at one time, this timbered inn, with flagstones underfoot, is thought to be one of the oldest licensed houses on the island.
