Wakehurst Place Gardens: Seed Bank

One of the largest international conservation projects ever, this international collaboration hopes to secure the future of the UK's native plants as well many international ones. The building has been under construction for a couple of years and is due to open during the summer of 2000. As well as safeguarding species, the project should help with medical research. I have a few pictures of the buildings which are starting to take shape. These were taken on a cold January morning (28/01/2000).
