Looking down from the mountain pass, Garnish Island is not obviously seperated from the mainland at Glengarriff in this view. The Martello Tower can just be seen about a third of the way along the Island.
Private boats carry visitors to the Island from several points around Glengarriff.
This is the departure point closest from the town - just a minute's walk away.
Seals can often be seen on rocky outcrops during the ten minute crossing.

Once on the Island the reception buildings house a welcoming café for teas, snacks and light meals.
